At Ss Philip & James, we are busy waiting for the coming of Our Lord, ready to celebrate with the Holy Family at the birth of the Messiah! There are many events taking place, to which everyone is invited!
December 5th 8.30pm - Compline
As we watch and wait for the coming Lord, we are setting some quiet time aside to be with God in prayer. This service is short in length but large in spiritual refreshment in this busy season
December 6th 10.30am - Advent Course 1
This year we will be following the York Course "Rediscovering Jesus", a course based upon a short recorded presentation that opens out for discussion and prayer. This course will take place directly after the said Eucharist and in all the Thursdays of Advent
December 6th 6pm - The Whitton District Guide Association Nativity & Carol Service
December 8th from noon - Pip & Jim's Christmas Fair
Join us for the usual array of festive stalls, refreshments and gifts. There are opportunities to make some last-minute Christmas purchases, or to tray your luck and win some prizes! It is also a wonderful chance to see our new Hall!
December 11th 8.30pm - Compline
December 12th 7.30pm - Christmas Concert
It is our pleasure to welcome Whitton Wood Orchestra for a nearly-Christmas Concert of music and laughter. Mulled wine and mince pies are offered during the interval. Entry by donation at the door!

December 16th 4pm P&J Christingle / Christmas Party
Join us for our annual Christingle Service, which will be followed by our Junior Church Christmas Party! Everyone is welcome, whatever age!

December 23rd 6.00pm - Service of Nine Lessons and Carols
Join us for this traditional blend of readings and sacred music with carol singing. This is our opportunity to immerse ourselves in the rich prophecy and sacred meaning that surrounds the birth of Jesus as our Messiah. This service is followed by mulled wine and mince pies
December 24th - Christmas Eve
11.30am - Christmas Carol Service at Whitefarm Lodge
4.00pm - Crib Service and Nativity
5.00pm - Candle-light Vigil to await the Incarnation of God among us
11.30pm - The Midnight Mass of Christmas with traditional carols and readings
December 25 - Christmas Day
8.00am - Holy Communion 1662 with Christmas Sermon
10.00am - All-Age Family Christmas Eucharist
